FUSING -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- --- -------------------------------------

All classes will introduce you to basic fusing and glass cutting techniques. Learn how easy it is to use Spectrum System 96 glass. Then continue making projects at home and bring them in for us to fire for you. Save 10% when you sign up for four classes at the same time for $200.00. Minimum age 11 with adult supervisor. Private parties can be arranged for up to 7.

Open Fusing
This is for people who have already taken a fusing class or have fusing experience. Come hang out and make your own fused projects. Get answers to technical questions, hands on guidance and some good glass time. Buy all your materials beforehand and we'll do the firing for you. So there are no compatibility problems we will only use 96 COE glass in the studio. Fee includes one firing for all that fits on a round 13 inch shelf, shelf paper, glue and the use of our tools.
Open fusing can be done during any of the following scheduled classes on a space available basis.

Inclusions
In this class we will play with different materials that can be sandwiched in between layers of glass to create interesting effects. We will experiment with metal mesh and foils to create pieces that will leave people asking "How did you do that?"

Beginning Fusing
Learn how easy it is to make your own fused glass pieces using System 96 glass. We will cover basic fusing dos and don'ts and make some small projects as time allows. Learn glass cutting and decorating techniques. I will have small projects to do or come with your own questions and ideas.

Fused Glass Pendant Workshop
Make 10 pendants in this four-hour Saturday afternoon workshop. Make your own holiday gifts and learn basic fusing techniques all while having fun too! We will supply tools, glass and do the firing for you. You supply your own creativity. Come learn how easy it is to make your own beautiful glass pendants. No experience necessary. Maximum class size: 7; minimum: 4

Fused Wind Chimes
Come learn how to make fused wind chimes! These wonderful works of art will chime all spring and summer! They are fun to make for yourself or make fantastic gifts!

Mosaic Fused 8" Plate
Come learn glass cutting and fusing skills with Polly. You will make an 8" round plate in the mosaic style. We will fuse it flat and then fuse into a slump mold. Both firings and all glass are included.

Small Plates & Coasters Will repeat soon
Make a plate or small coasters using different decorating techniques like stringers, frits and layering. Pieces can be slumped into a varie of molds for an additional firing fee.

Beginning PMC
We'll be making PMC earrings, clasps and pendants at Kiss My Glass. You'll learn to work in this exciting new medium that lets you change a soft gray clay into fine silver in less than a day! We'll also learn Keum Bo, the Korean gold onlay technique, and silver patiina creation. Leave with beautiful finished pieces - and you're the artist! Instructor Kathryn Corby , a Santa Cruz open studios artist.

Intermediate Precious Metal Clay Will repeat soon

Bronze Precious Metal Clay
The fantastic new Bronzclay you've been waiting for! It works like terracotta clay, but fires to pure bronze with a rainbow patina that will dazzle you. We'll be creating a stunning, comfortable bronze link bracelet. You'll learn tear away transfer technique and form your bracelet pieces on the first evening, and assemble the bracelet on the second. No prior experience necessary. Leave with a beautiful finished piece ~ and you're the artist!

Beginning Bead Making - (Hothead) Will repeat soon
Come learn and play! For those of you who want to try bead making in a small group setting this is perfect! Learn how to create your own glass beads by melting glass with a torch. You will learn how to be safe, have a materials overview and learn how to make basic shapes and decoration beads on a hothead torch. We will play with frits and millifiore too. Repeat students welcome, come play, problem solve and refresh your skills.

Hearts and Hearts Alone!
Come play on our torches and make hearts for everyone you love! Beginners or Intermediate.

Transition from soft glass to hard glass. Polly will be here to share the nuances of working with borosilcate glass. Learn to make these striking colors sing!

Beginning OxyPropane Bead Making
Learn how to safely work with this hotter, faster, quieter system of torch. You will make a dozen or more beads in the color palette of your choice. Round, cylinder, lollipop, cone, bicone, and heart shapes will be taught. Use of frit, stringers and millifiore will be covered too.

CCE Building Bead Skills
Cabrillo College (hot head)
Want to take your beadmaking to the next level? In this class we will explore the technique of dot application and manipulation. Students will learn to make faux vessels, hearts and cone shapes. Tools will be provided for use in class or you can purchase your own in advance. Materials fee covers tools and supplies used in class.

SCAE Beginning Bead Making

Class held at 1850 Benton Street, Santa Clara. Learn how to safely fire up your torches and make beautiful glass beads on a hot head torch. We will work on shaping round, cylinder, square, triangle and lollipop. Frit and millifiore application and exploration will be after lunch. Raking techniques will be explored as time allows.

Stained Glass in a Weekend
Use our tools, our space, and our expertise to see if you like doing stained glass. Come make a special panel to enjoy in your home. Learn to cut, grind, foil, solder, add zinc, and patina! Student to purchase glass.

Beginning Stained Glass Will repeat soon
Come learn stained glass with Jackie, just in time to make a special gift. Or, gift yourself and learn a new skill! Come in and sign up, choose your project and tools so we can set you up to do some homework before class. In the first class you will learn cutting, fitting and foiling. Go home and work on your project. Then, in the second class, you will learn soldering, lead or zinc borders, patina and polish.

CCE Beginning Stained Glass
Have you always wanted to learn how to make stained glass? In this class you’ll learn how to cut, fit, solder and apply finishing treatments as you complete a panel approximately 12" x 18" in class. These same techniques can later be applied to sidelights, cabinets and many other projects. Students will be taught to work with glass and lead safely. The instructor provides some materials and tools, but each student wilt need his/her own project materials which will cost $100-300, depending on the tools and project you choose. Tools and materials can be shared. A materials list will be mailed upon registration.

CCE Intermediate Stained Glass
Expand whatever level stained glass skills you currently have in this fun class.
Beginners will follow a beginner's outline and intermediate level students may choose a more complex pattern or piece such as box making or lead project. Class commitment can help you get to that project you have been meaning to complete.
Some tools will be available for student use such as grinders, light boxes and saws; however, each student will need his/her own hand tools and project materials. A materials list will be mailed upon registration.

CCE Bevels and Stained Glass Will repeat soon
Come make two simple or one fancier box to give as gifts or keep as treasures. No previous experience required. Learn the tricks of 3D assembly, stained glass soldering and patina´s. No glass cutting skills required. Tools provided for sharing. Materials purchase required. Cost estimate $40 -$75.

Mount your mosaic street number to display your address in a unique, creative way. Help public safety personnel find your house, or a loved one's home, quickly and easily. All materials included for three numbers, add a fourth number for an additional $5.00. Please bring a lunch.
