FUSING

All classes will introduce you to basic fusing and glass cutting techniques. Learn how easy it is to use Spectrum System 96 glass. Then continue making projects at home and bring them in for us to fire for you.
Save 10% when you sign up for four classes at the same time for $200.00.
Minimum age 11 with adult supervisor. Private parties can be arranged for up to 7.

Open Fusing
This is for people who have already taken a fusing class or
have fusing experience. Come hang out and make
your own fused projects. Get answers to technical questions, hands on
guidance and some good glass time. Buy all your materials beforehand
and we'll do the firing for you. So there are no compatibility problems
we will only use 96 COE glass in the studio. Fee includes one firing
for all that fits on a round 13 inch shelf, shelf paper, glue and the
use of our tools.
Open fusing can be done during any of the

EXPLORATION OF
FUSED DICHROIC BRACELETS WITH JACKIE MARR
This class will be two short classes, examples are available in the store, come see - they are gorgeous!

EXPLORATION OF
FUSING WITH OPEN STUDIOS ARTIST HEATHER RICHMAN
You will learn the basics of fusing including COE, layering, strip cutting,
how to use frit and stringer, what works and why, what doesn't work
and why, color combinations and more. You will be able to make 3-4 cabochons
for small jewelry pieces and two 6x6 inch pieces.

Beginning PMC with Kathy Corby
In this class you will learn to work with this fascinating medium of clay
which turns into sterling silver. Kathy has a huge selection of tools, texture
and knowledge to help you transform this dull clay into earrings, pendants
and stunning focal toggle clasps. Gold Korean Keum Bo and irridescent silver
patina are also taught in this class. Come make something special for yourself
or get a jump on bday and holiday gifts! Kathys' classes will fill quickly
during open studios so dont delay on sign up.

PMC ENAMELS with Kathy Corby
Because PMC is fine silver, it is perfect for the application of transparent glass enamels.
You can add brilliant color and sparkle to your creations. You will make two pendants and earrings using
the Basse Taille enamel Technique.

Bronze
Precious Metal Clay
The fantastic new Bronzclay you've been waiting for! It works like terracotta
clay, but fires to pure bronze with a rainbow patina that will dazzle
you. We'll be creating a stunning, comfortable bronze link bracelet. You'll
learn tear away transfer technique and form your bracelet pieces on the
first evening, and assemble the bracelet on the second. No prior experience
necessary. Leave with a beautiful finished piece ~ and you're the artist!
Instructor: Kathryn Corby, a Santa Cruz Open Studios artist.

BEAD MAKING

Beginning Borosilcate
with Brayton Furlong
In this class you will learn how to work with pyrex/hard glass. You will
do both on and off mandrel techniques and learn how to develop the colors
and grow the crystals that make this glass so unique.
Class Fee: $150.00 plus $25.00 materials.
Borosilicate
Marbles
In this class you will learn how to work off mandrel and make a vortex and
implosion marble. Develop your skills using borosilicate glass and color knowledge as
well. A good class if you've never worked off mandrel or for learning about implosions
which can be used in beads as well as marbles.

Beginning Bead Making Oxy/Propane Torch
You will learn to make round, square, cylinders, discs
in one or multiple colors. We will explore use of frits,
millifiore and raking too. Each student will have their
own workstation and choose their own palate.. All of the
techniques above will be covered as well as use of silver
foil, pixie dust and dichroic. These things will add significant
bling to your work. All day class allows each student will also have
longer practice times. Class limited to 6 students.

Beginning Bead Making - (Hothead)
Come learn and play! For those of you who want to try bead making in
a small group setting this is perfect! Learn how to create your own
glass beads by melting glass with a torch. You will learn how to be
safe, have a materials overview and learn how to make basic shapes and
decoration beads on a hothead torch. We will play with frits and millifiore
too. Repeat students welcome, come play, problem solve and refresh your
skills.

Intermediate Bead Making Oxy-Propane
Part 1 Some previous experience on either torch style
required. in this class , we will work on developing
skills, shaping, surface decorating and dots. Friday
night October 28th 6-9:30 75.00 plus 20 materials.
Part 2 Some previous experience required on either
torch, In this class we will explore striped cane,
millefiore making, silver saturated glasses, encasing,
hearts and conch shells.
9-4:30 150.00 plus 35.00 materials.

Beginning
Bead Making
Cabrillo College (Hot Head)
Learn how to safely fire up your hot head torch and make a variety of styles of beautiful glass beads with Italian glass moretti rods. You will learn shaping for round, disc, cylinder, square and others as well as use of frit, millefiore and raking. Tools will be provided for use in class or you can purchase your own in advance. Materials fee covers tools and supplies used in class. Repeat students welcome! Students should wear closed-toed shoes and cotton clothing.

level? In this class we will explore the
technique of dot application and manipulation.
Students will learn to make faux vessels,
hearts and cone shapes. Tools will be

Learn how to safely fire up your torches and make beautiful glass beads on a hot
head torch. We will work on shaping round, cylinder, square, triangle and lollipop. Frit

explored as time allows.

In just one day you can come learn quick make a project
in the 10 x10 size in the colors and pattern of your
choice. I will have ten projects for you to choose from
that can be accomplished in this timeframe. Come play
with glass for a day and see if you like it. Make it
a date, have fun, create something beautiful. This would
be a great bday present, girls out day, teen experience.

Triangle Treasure Boxes
No experience required! Adults and teenagers welcome. Bring a little
gathering of bits and pieces that are special to you and make a 4x4x4
enclosed bevel triangle box. You will learn how to foil and solder
and patina your project. Bring shells,buttons, beads, baubles, memorabilia. We
have everything else including sterile sand for your treasures to be buried in.
